About Mystic Ostrich

Where Mystic Ostrich came from?

Mystic Ostrich started on a whim. Truthfully, it began by my cousin saying "you're tall and lanky, so you have to be an ostrich" as she was trying to come up with fighter names for my heart rate tracker at my gym. Then somewhere along the way Mystic was added in front of it and it just kind of stuck, with no other intentions behind it. Before I knew it, people kept asking "what the f*k is that?". Honestly, at that time I had zero clue as to what it meant, what it represented and just how important it would become. Spoiler( I do now, keep reading to find out)

Somewhere along the way as I continued my journey both professionally & personally, it grew into the meaning it is today and led me here; wanting to share it with others.

The Irony Behind the Ostrich

Ostriches are wild, flightless, incredibly fast, and surprisingly fierce birds.

Now I knew some of that when I was given the name but I didn't know all of it.

After learning that, there are two pretty cool connections:

One: I own a kickboxing gym. Where naturally kickboxers have to be fast on their feet, a little wild, and always fighting to stay in the ring. Pretty fitting for an ostrich.

Two: If you abbreviate Mystic Ostrich "MO"; that is the state abbreviation for Missouri, the state I am originally from.

Neither were intentional.

It just goes to show that somethings can just fall into place well after they get started.

Little did I know they were breadcrumbs of my story all along.

What Mystic Ostrich represents.

Most people spend their lives trying to fit into the mold the world lays out for them. Staying in the comfort zone and not allowing the imperfections, quirks or wildness be out in the open.

We follow the same path. Do the same script. Hope that one day everything changes.

Mystic Ostrich was built on the belief that you were never meant to stay on the ground.

You were made to fly( especially out of your hometown).

To grow and change constantly.

Dare to be Different and stand out.

Fight for the things you love.

Life is far more than just work and going home. It's about growth, curiosity, and having the courage to chase something bigger than yourself. To learn new things. Meet new people. Love endlessly. Support others. Above all, to take the leap even when the next step is uncertain.

So I challenge you; Take the leap. Trust the process. Dare To Fly.
